A Windy 50 Degree F Walk Through the Cliffs

The first site we saw was the Pingvellir National Park, located on a major fault line.  In AD 930, this site was chosen by the 36 Nordic Chieftains to meet annually to hear laws and settle disputes. There was some combat. This gulley shows where the North American and European plates drift apart.  Iceland is tearing in half at the rate of 2.5 cm per year.
